Governor allocates emergency aid to flood victims in Mae Hong Son
A moving ceremony to disburse emergency aid to the survivors of natural disaster victims was held in Mae Hong Son on October 10, 2023. GovernorChutiporn Sechangwas present when a total of 200,000 baht was handed over to the families of two deceased indigents who lost their lives in the devastating floods resulting from Storm Kajiki on August 27, 2023.
The two unfortunate victims are the 82-year-oldMs. Norrathai Phansopha, who was hit by a landslide in her home, and the 53-year-oldMr. Wannoh Srichai, who was swept away by the floods and subsequently found buried in the mud. These tragedies are just a small part of the devastating impact that has greatly affected the region and its residents.
Emergency aid for affected families
The “Rajaprajanugroh” foundation provided 10,000 baht each to the bereaved families. This help is an important step to support the affected families during this difficult time. The ceremony took place on the first floor of the Mae Hong Son administration building and was watched with great consternation by the local community.
Storm Kajiki caused extensive damage to housing, agricultural land and livestock in the region. As a result of this natural disaster, many people lost their homes and the entire community faces many challenges.
