An exciting year for the LGBTQ+community in Asia is imminent, because Phuket not only hosts the "Discover Phuket Pride 2024", but also received the promise for the General Meeting and World Conference (GM & WC) 2026 from Interpride. This means that Phuket is the venue for the most important Pride forum in the world for the first time. As the Nation Thailand reports, the big event will take place from October 26 to 31, 2026.
A merger of well-known organizations such as Bangkok Pride, the Foundation for Sia Rights and Justice (For-Sogi) and Phuket Pride (Andaman Power Association) made this decision possible, which finally won against the competition from India. The GM & toilet will hold over 400 Pride organizations from all over the world and expects between 200 and 400 participants on site, with online access for non-traveling people being offered.
