IndiGo launches daily flights to Hanoi: tourism and business are booming!

The aviation business is booming and the connection between India and Vietnam is further strengthened by IndiGo Airlines. From December 20, 2025, the Indian airline will offer daily flights between Delhi and Hanoi. This direct connection is of particular interest to business travelers and tourists, who can now travel comfortably without having to change trains in Bangkok or Singapore. Aviationa2z reports that the flights will be operated by an Airbus A320 and travelers will be able to take off from Delhi in the morning.

Flight 6E1633 departs Delhi at 07:25 am IST and arrives Hanoi at 1:00 pm local time. The return flight 6E1634 departs Hanoi at 6:00 pm and finally lands back in the Indian capital at 9:25 pm IST. According to 4me.news, this new connection will not only boost travel but also strengthen business ties between the two countries.

Better connectivity and growing demand

Vietnam's popularity as a destination for Indian tourists is growing rapidly. The relaxed visa rules and improved bilateral relations are helping Vietnam to be increasingly seen as an important destination for travelers from India. The new route, which runs via Kolkata, now makes it easier for internal travelers from North India to explore both Kolkata and the impressive capital of Vietnam.

IndiGo has previously offered flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, but the new daily service is seen as a crucial step to boost confidence in the market. The company's aerodynamic concept is also reflected in the announcement that the Mumbai-Singapore route will have a second daily flight from winter 2025, as well as in the modernization of the Phuket route.

Competition is increasing

But IndiGo is not the only player in the market. Vietjet recently launched new direct routes from Hyderabad and Bangalore to Ho Chi Minh City, starting in March 2025. This expansion shows the growing need for travel connections and that India is now the sixth most important international market for Vietnam. Last year, 501,000 Indian tourists visited Vietnam, an increase of 3.6 times compared to 2022.

With a total of 78 weekly flights between Indian cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, as well as Vietnamese destinations such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City7, travel between these two dynamic markets is becoming increasingly attractive. Travel Industry News highlights how the new routes not only strengthen tourism, but also economic ties and increase the competitiveness of airlines in the region.

It remains to be seen how IndiGo's new service and Vietjet's expansion will impact the travel landscape between India and Vietnam. However, one thing is certain: flight operations here are on an exciting path that will benefit travelers and businesses alike.
